Is it needed? More wives, more children. Is it needed, more trouble and drama. Why can’t men work out the differences they have with their wives, is a second one needed, and does she make the problems go away or she makes it worse by adding hers.

Questions run through the minds of the heartbroken women; they cry all night and fake a smile in the morning just to please their husbands. In Africa, the illiterates practiced polygamy, using the children for farming, it has also become a normal thing in our modern generation for a man to marry two or more wives or have many mistresses.

Why men practice polygamy.

Some religions like Islam allow the men to marry four wives, but the religion also states that if a man is capable of taking care of more than a wife, he is allowed to marry but he must love them equally, the men should spend equal time with them and money on them. But do African men respect these rules and regulations?

Some men try to run away from issues they have with their wives and end up spending more time with their lovers. The lovers get pregnant and end up as second wives or baby mama. The two women start quarrelling especially when they stay in the same house, the home is broken and there is no more peace. What is a home without joy, peace, comfort and happiness?

The emotional trauma women encounter.

There is no woman that wishes to share her man, the thought of sleeping alone and having her husband in the arms of another kills her. She becomes depressed and derailed. It also diminishes a woman’s ability to care and provide for her children and to participate in the work force, she thinks too much, especially when her husband stops giving her the attention she requires. Emotional abuse is one of the most prevalent forms of abuse of women by their intimate partners and its damage is unquestionably severe, undermining a woman’s sense of worth, agency, and independence. God is a jealous God, a woman cannot control her jealousy, it brings out the worst in her. African women go to the extreme doing voodoo just to keep their men.

Communication is key in every relationship. Men should learn how to stick to one wife. Love and cherish her and she will give you a happy home with smart kids that will lead the future generation.
