New York based fashion Label ‘Tome‘, fronts Herieth Paul‘s tragedy inspired 2017 collection of timeless pieces, for the modern woman.

The Tanzanian made piece, picked inspiration from tragedies that had to do with the global plight of exploited women all around the globe; the 276 Nigerian Chibok schoolgirls (who were kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014); the two teenage Indian girls (who were gang-raped, and lynched at the edge of their village, Katra Sahadatganj) and the “fallen” women (who worked in forced labour during the 20th century at Ireland’s Magdalene asylums and laundries).

The obviously sentimental collective is evident in the melancholic tones on which each piece is cut. It features simple classy- yet modest looks that includes; flared jumpsuits, shift dresses paired with flared pants and wrap dresses all styled conservatively in mostly high neck tops.

The outfits prove that a woman can still turn heads high irrespective of odds when fully clothed and with the right Tanzanian model, it just makes you want every piece of clothing in this collection.
