In Loving Memory of Brangelina….

Just in case you’ve been living in seclusion from the internet, and literally every form of information, the past few days it is my duty to announce to you that Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, her husband of two years, (and lover of almost ten years). Yes, you read that right, Brangelina is calling it quits.

READ: Brangelina 2006 – 2016

The couple had six children, and both Brad and Angelina are allegedly suing for custody.  However Angelina wants sole custody of all six children, whie Brad Pitt wants joint custody. While we wish all this is resolved without completely ruining the children’s lives, we’re paying tribute to two movies starring Brangelina.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

The movie that started it all. Brad and Angelina star as John and Jane Smith, a married couple both living unexciting lives and attending marriage therapy to try to save their marriage. Unknown to them, they are both professional assassins working for two rival agencies. Life becomes a little more interesting when they are each assigned their spouse as their next target i.e Jane is to kill John, and John is to kill Jane. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I’m probably going to watch it again this weekend.

By The Sea (2015)

This one was written and directed my the soon-to-be former Mrs. Jolie Pitt herself. By the Sea is set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel the country together. They seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet, seaside town they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants, such as a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner. It’s ironinc that this is the last movie the couple made together, and even more ironic because they issued a statement saying it was easy to do the movie because it was in no way a reflection of their marriage. Look at life.

Allied (2016)

Just for the LOLs. No, this movie doesn’t star both Brad and Angelina, but it’s rumored to be the reason for the end of Brangelina. Because life loves irony, Allied is only slightly different from Mr. & Mrs. Smith. While on a mission to kill a German official in 1942 Africa, two assassins (Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard) fall in love, get married and then discover that one is a double agent that the other must eliminate. I actually can’t wait to see this one come November.
