FELA (Arrest the Music)
A musical centered on the life and music of a Nigerian legend and the Afrobeat King, Fela Kuti.

Electronic Soundscapes
Electronic Soundscapes returns this year with double the music! If you enjoyed the 2015 concert at Printing Press, don’t miss the performances taking place during next week’s Felabration at FreedomPark programme. Enjoy the best of European and Nigerian electronic music on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15 as we close this edition of the Electronic Soundscapes Workshop with two concerts at Freedom Park’s Amphitheatre. Time is 7pm daily.

Just Listen
16/16 is excited to host an intimate listening session of songs from South African artist Lindiwe Maxolo’s upcoming album onFriday, October 14th. Lindiwe Maxolo is an emerging powerful vocalist in the South African Jazz music industry. Her musical journey includes opening for the legendary David Grusin and Lee Ritenour. She has also worked with South African legends such as Sibongile Khumalo, Concord Nkabide, Themba Mkhize, Feya Faku, and McCoy Mrubata. She is now gracing us in Lagos for her first tour and for a musical feast for our senses. Jeun Soke (Supper Club)
Meaning ‘to eat up’ in Yoruba, Jeun Soke is Lagos’ premier supper club. We curate and host a dinner with drinks pairings and in so doing, bring together a screened set of strangers who are looking to break away from their cliques and who bond and banter over great food, company and tipples. The 2nd edition of Jeun Soke features a Taste of Asia menu. 7 courses of shared plates along with 3 cocktails, all with flavors from East and Southeast Asia. NGN 20,000 gets you food and drinks. The sans-drinks menu costs NGN 15,000. You are welcome to bring your own bottle of booze but that will incur a corkage fee of NGN 5,000.

Echoes (Closing Ceremony)
Echoes is an exhibition that includes, but is not limited to, over a hundred masks of Fela and the queen mother(Funmilayo Kuti and Fela’s queens) in diverse colors and moods; and a study and display of his fashion sense and wardrobe, all of which were inspired by his essence, mythology, struggle for freedom, human dignity, social consciousness, values, courage, pan-Africanism, to mention a few. The closing ceremony/ artist’s talk promises to be a grand affair with an Artist’s talk, dance performance and light music; with the presence of acts like Qudus Onikeku who will be performing an excerpt of his solo piece titled AFRICAMAN ORIGINAL, a piece commissioned by Zinsou Foundation in Benin republic and circles around Fela Kuti’s music; Jahman Anikulapo who will be moderating the artist talk and Awoko who will supply light music. Cocktail will follow as the guests get to enjoy the rest of the exhibition before closing.
