Born in Eastern Nigeria, Ezinne Asinugo is known for her exceptional talent as a member of the CEO dancers.

She explains, “Dancing has always been a hobby…while living in Nigeria it had never crossed my mind that people danced for a living”.

As the daughter of a journalist and a Vicar, with a degree in accounting and management from the University of Westminster, her expectations in life never included becoming a dancer. Like most Nigerian children, she had been raised with a general mind set of becoming an accountant.   Ezinne

Ezinne’s unexpected journey to stardom began after moving to England for primary school. After being severely bullied, her opportunity to shine finally arose when the school was planning the end of year productions and required someone to put a dance together for the parents and teachers. At the age of 11, the once timid girl took up dancing as her identity.

“I put together a piece that wowed the students…and earned some major credibility among my peers.”

She became extremely passionate about dancing as she continued to teach dancing in secondary school and university where she met her group members Soliat Bada and Nqobile Ntshangase. This led to the formation of the CEO group that took the world by surprise at the biggest television show in the UK, Britain’s Got Talent.

The creative process as a choreographer is pretty easy…I think the most difficult part is if you are not instantly inspired, we also get writers block, which is very frustrating especially when deadlines are looming.”

Today, Ezinne is recognised as a world-class dancer, her resumé includes performances with international musicians such as Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, D’banj, Rihanna, Drake and Fuse ODG, the list is endless.

Although Ezinne’s most unforgettable moment remains her dance performance with Rihanna at the Brit Awards, her dream performance would be working with the “Queen Bee”, Beyonce.

Ezinne looks forward to the future as she plans on expanding her fitness dance workout class ‘AfroBEAST Burnout’ and a potential tour in Africa.
